This smart rare Van Hool bodied Royal Tiger was new to the failed Travellers, in 01/1987, registered D124HMT. It is seen here making a pleasant appearance on West Strand, Whitehaven, on 05/05/2024, during the second day of the 'Leyland National 52' celebrations that were organised by the Workington Transport Heritage Trust to commemorate fifty-two years since the entry into service of the first National to be constructed at the Lillyhall plant that is situated near Workington. This event was organised after the success of the 'Leyland National 50' and 'Leyland National 51' events. This Royal Tiger was going to operate out to Ennerdale Brewery but a mechanical problem sadly ended any hopes of a ride out on it. © Peter Steel 2024.
