This nice unique open-rear sided 'dinky' Solo was new as a standard Solo to Regal Busways(201), Shoeburyness, in 08/2006, registered YJ06YSK. Passing to First Sout West, where it was numbered 53503, it was later converted by the management for The Mousehole service in Cornwall in time for the 2022 season but saw little use as it apparently failed safety tests. It later entered brief service on Somerset’s Sunseeker service to Ilfracombe, now part of the Exmoor Coaster, before being transferred, during 2023, to First Wessex for proposed use on their own Sunseeker services in 2023. Apparently that also never happened and it was sold onto South Pennine, via Ensignbus(dlr), Purfleet, and it was repainted into fleet livery earlier this year(2024) with more Pennine Air decals added after when this photo was taken. It is now used in occasional service as well as attending various bus running days and rallies. It is seen here at one such event when seen at Rowsley South Station, during the Nottingham Heritage Vehicles Charity Rally & Running Day at Peak Rail's H.Q., on 16/06/2024. New to Lewis, Llangeitho, Wales, in 02/2012, this SlimLine Solo is seen here arriving in Oldham Bus Station when operating Service 356 10:24 Ashton-under-Lyne Interchange - Stalybridge Bus Station - Heyrod - Mossley Railway Station - Greenfield - Uppermill - Diggle - Dobcross Square - Delph - Denshaw Terminus - Strine Dale - Oldham Mumps Interchange - Oldham Bus Station. It's destination display has been changed for the return 11:54 journey back to Ashton-under-Lyne. Under Tranche 3 of TfGM's Bee Network, which begins on 05/01/2025, this service will receive minor timetable changes and a change of operator to Go North West. © Peter Steel 2024.
