First registered in 05/1989, this Leyland Roadrunner has been in various liveries with past owners but is now restored in Birch Bros., Lindale, Grange-over-Sands livery but with D. Mossop & Sons, Dalton-in-Furness, names. It is seen here on display at Grand Prix Coaches, Brough, Cumbria, on 08/04/2023, during the two day Cumbria Easter Rally. Birch Bros. was an actual operator. © Peter Steel 2023.

This Smiths Scampi Fries liveried scale model was apparently used in a TV ad. is seen here on display at the British Commercial Vehicle Museum, Leyland, on 25/09/2022. The real B135SNB was first registered in 11/1984 but has been untaxed since c10/1997. This museum is well worth a visit, especially if you haven't been for a while or in fact haven't been before. © Peter Steel 2022.

These two restored trucks are seen here at Kirkby Stephen Auction Mart, on display at the Cumbria Easter Rally, on 16/04/2022. This well attended event was returning after a three year hiatus due to you know what. On the left of the photo is 279XTB, a Bedford TK flat that was new to Lancashire County Fire Brigade as a Control Unit, in 04/1962. It was restored during 2017/8, as seen here, in the livery of B. Birch & Sons, Lindale, Cumbria. Contrasting on the right with D. Mossop & Sons, Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria, lettering is F389PJF, a Leyland Roadrunner 8.13 Tipper. First registered in 05/1989, this Leyland Roadrunner has been in various liveries with past owners. I'm unsure if Mr. Mossop used to work for Birch Bros., as many years ago, a Birch Bros. lorry was always seen parked up in Dalton-in-Furness, just off the old A590 road through the town centre. © Peter Steel 2022.
