Whitchampion was new in 2003 with a GTW 2965 and sails under the United Kingdom flag with a home port of Douglas, Isle of Man. She is seen here alongside P&O Cruises Azura - IMO: 9424883, on 05/08/2016, at the Ocean Cruise Terminal, Southampton, getting ready to re-fuel Azura ready for her next cruise. The turnaround operation is fantastic, the last passengers being off by around 10.30 a.m. with the next passengers starting to come on board at around 12.30 p.m. This was my last photo prior to disembarkation at around 9.15 a.m.

Azura had arrived back at Southampton on 05/08/2016, having left Cadiz, Spain, on 02/08/2016, a distance of a distance of 1,086 nautical miles according to www.sea-distances.org. By my reckoning that gives a total of 4,138 nautical miles however the official P&O estimate was 4,581!

Azura was built in 2010 by Fincantieri, Monfalcone, Italy. Laid down in October 2008, launched in June 2009 and Christened on 10th. April 2010 with her maiden voyage on the 12th. Part of the Grand Class of cruise ships, the earlier and similar Ventura being her sister ship. Registered in Hamilton, Bermuda, she has a GTW of 115,055, has nineteen decks of which fourteen are passenger accessible giving a maximum passenger capacity of 3,096 and 1,226 crew. Powered by six Wartsilla diesels capable of 22 knots.

Azura had departed from the Mayflower Terminal, Southampton, on 22/07/2016, for a 14-night Western Med. Cruise; Southampton - Gibraltar - Ajaccio, Corsica, France - Civitavecchia(Port of Rome), Italy - La Spezia, Italy - Monte Carlo, Monaco - Marseille, France - Cádiz, Spain - Southampton. © Peter Steel 2016.

Brasilia Highway is seen looking rather careworn in Southampton on 05/08/2016. Built in 2009 with a GTW 59940 and sails under the Panamanian flag.
