The Guy Arab became the standard double-deck for the then independent Lancashire United Transport with them taking both front entrance/exit and the rear open platform entrance/exit. New in 06/1962, this example is one of the latter. It is seen here inside the North West Museum of Road Transport, on 16/10/2022. © Peter Steel 2022.

These two preserved Gardner engined powered Guy Arab's are seen here inside the North West Museum of Road Transport, St. Helens, on 16/10/2022, and they are at either side of the age spectrum. Nearest the camera is Lancashire United Transport, Atherton, 110, 574TD, a Northern Counties bodied Mk.IV 6LW. This rear entrance/exit open platform version was new to L.U.T., the once famed independent, in 06/1962, while alongside is Chester City Transport, 47, DFM347H, a Mk.V 6LW version which also has a Northern Counties body but with front/entrance exit. This was the last Guy Arab built, with both companies favouring this sturdy bus. © Peter Steel 2022.
