Built by Leyland Motors in 10/1934 as a Demonstrator it was then acquired by Lytham St. Annes Corporation. This rare Lion is seen here looking immaculate at another Lancashire coastal resort, Morecambe, when having just arrived at the Mazuma Stadium, the home of Morecambe F.C., during the Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust's Morecambe Rally & Running Day, on 19/05/2024. I opted on a ride on this to the stadium. Lovely! Behind, and also immaculate is preserved Fylde Borough Transport, 77 ATD281J, a Northern Counties bodied Leyland Atlantean PDR1A/1. This smart Atlantean was new in a batch of three, 75-7, ATD279-81J, supplied to Lytham St. Annes Corporation Transport, in 11/1970. Tagged on to an order for Nottingham City Transport, hence the design, this Atlantean has recently undergone a thorough restoration and front end rebuild to original design by the Fylde Transport Trust. Fylde Borough Transport was borne out of Lytham St. Annes under local government re-organization on 01/04/1974. It wore this livery in its service days. © Peter Steel 2024.

It had a much longer journey to it's next operator, Jersey Motor Transport(51), registered J7278, in 1932 prior to passing into preservation in the 1950s. Now owned by the Aire Valley Transport Group, it is seen here at Coach Street Car & Coach Park, Skipton, at their 17th. Yorkshire Dales Rally & Running Day on 08/10/2023. © Peter Steel 2023.

This venerable all-Leyland Lion LT1 was new to Sunderland Corporation in 05/1929. Having spent a considerable amount of time at the Amberley Museum, Arundel, it is seen here back near its former home in the bus depot at Beamish, the Living Museum of the North, during the museum's three-day "Fares Please!" event on 07/05/2023. It has also carried registration J7002. © Peter Steel 2023.
