A trio of preserved Leyland 'Big Cats' are seen here on display at the Peak Park Bus Gathering, Peak Rail, Rowsley South, on 19/06/2011. The sneaky 'Big Cat', peeping in on the left of the photo, is, preserved Manchester City Transport, 74, BND874C, a Park Royal bodied Leyland Panther Cub PSRC1/1. It was new to Manchester in 05/1965. Centre, is, preserved Midland Red, 674, SOA674S, a Plaxton Supreme III Express bodied Leyland Leopard PSU3E/4R, new to Midland Red(674), in 01/1978. These smart 'grant spec' coaches were a really adequate vehicle for 'local' and distance express services. On the right, and also suitable for such work, is preserved Midland Red, 227, JHA227L, a 'DP' seated Marshall bodied Leyland Leopard PSU3B/2R. This nice Leopard was new to Midland Red(227), in 04/1973. © Peter Steel 2011.
