First of all, apologies about the quality of this shot. With the camera not being set correctly with it being a snap shot due in the main to the road layout at the time. This B10M is seen here leaving the dinginess of the old Blackpool Bus Station, onto Talbot Road, on 15/07/1995. It was operating through to Fleetwood, via Poulton, on Service F6. Despite it's Scottish registration, it was new to Ribble in 11/1994 but was intended to be Stagecoach Glasgow(083). Another seven with the 'PRS' mark were also acquired by Ribble, 428/37-42, M782/94-9PRS.

Although the car park remains on top of the bus station, this area has since been totally re-developed. The buses stopped using the bus station back in 2002.

The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being a Boots Colourslide.

I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 1995.

The Volvo B6. Now where do I start? In my opinion and this is from an enthusiast point of view, these were errrrr. well crap to put it politely and certainly not the best of product from the well respected Swedish manufacturer. Not a patch on the British built Dennis Dart, which at the time had the market sewn up on the 9m size or so side of things for the PSV market. This B6 was new to Stagecoach Cumberland(283), in 08/1993, being the last of numerically of eight. The B6 was ordered in numbers for Cumberland I believe, but delays in production meant the well respected and very successful Alexander PS bodied Volvo B10Ms were ordered and as they say, the rest is history. This B6 had been transferred south to Stagecoach Ribble after a short life with Cumberland and is seen here emerging from the dinginess of the old Blackpool Bus Station, onto Talbot Road, on 15/07/1995, when heading for Knott End. Probably about as far as the B6 could handle! Although the car park remains on top of the bus station, this area has since been totally re-developed. The buses stopped using the bus station back in 2002.

For their interurban needs, Stagecoach Ribble Buses took twenty-three of these rather basic Plaxton Interurban bodied Dennis Javelin's. On the right of the photo, 140, L140BFV, an 11SDL2129 model, new in 09/1993, carries "the Ribble Valley Mancunian" branding, while alongside, 153, L153BFV, is an 11SDL2133 model, new in 11/1993. The batch was numbered 138-46/8-61, L138-46/8-58BFV, L159-61CCW, the latter three being among the first delivered. This pair are seen here at Wembley Stadium, London, on 28/05/1994, having conveyed Bolton Wanderers F.C. supporters for their team's Football League 1st. Division Play-off Final -v- Reading F.C. For the record, Bolton, who now ply their trade in the EFL League 2, that would have been the 3rd. Division when this game was played, beat Reading 4-3 after extra time, to win a place in the FA English Premier League! It was played out in front of a match attendance of 64,107. Being a Bank Holiday Monday, plenty of supporters of both sides had made the journey by coach, though I'm pretty sure these Javelins won't have been the most comfortable of coaches to travel down from the North-West on.

The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent Fujichrome.

This smart B10M, one of two new to Ribble, in 08/1994, is seen here arriving at London Heathrow Airport Central Bus & Coach Station, on 24/10/1994, when operating on NX572 London Victoria Coach Station - Burnley. The other B10M was 1164, M164SCK.

The Plaxton Premiere 350 based Expressliner II, built in conjunction with National Express, on the Volvo B10M chassis had replaced the Plaxton Paramount 3500 III based Expressliner I on the same chassis a couple of years earlier.

The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent Fujichrome.
