When Speedlink Airport Services expanded under National Express in providing internal airport services, as well as external airport express services, the fleet expanded greatly. This DAF was new in 02/1995 in a batch of seven, 14-20, M844-50RCP, and they mainly operated thirty on internal work at London Heathrow Airport. It is seen here about to pass London Heathrow Airport Central Bus & Coach Station, at the end of 05/1995.

The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent Fujichrome.

I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 1995.

Speedlink Airport Services was formed in 1989 when the airport coach operations of London Country(South West) at Crawley and Staines were 'hived' off. London Country(South West), later London & Country and Guildford & West Surrey, was in turn formed from the split of London Country Bus Services in 09/1986. Passing under the ownership of National Express, Speedlink benefitted from a large fleet investment. In all, twenty-five of these Van Hool bodied Scanias were bought new with this one being new in a batch of five, S16-20, M716KPD etc., in 05/1995, so it was near brand new when seen here passing Heathrow Airport Central Bus and Coach Station, at the end of the month.

The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent Fujichrome.

Speedlink Airport Services operated thirty of these smart Berkhof bodied Dennis Lance buses, mainly on 'airside' work at London Heathrow Airport. This one was the third numerically in the first batch, M957-68SDP, that was supplied in 04/1995, about a month prior to when this photo was taken at London Heathrow Airport, when it was passing the Heathrow Airport Central Bus & Coach Station, at the end of 05/1995.

The camera being a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent Fujichrome.

The Jetlink branding was a carry-over from London Country days. Another two similar models, G803/4RNC, were acquired from Wigan based tour operator, Shearings(803/4), in the same year.

The camera was a Praktica MTL3 with the film being the excellent FujiChrome.

Passing under the ownership of National Express, Speedlink benefitted from a large fleet investment, however, this Cummins powered Tiger was new to The Berks Bucks Bus Co.(T/a The Bee Line), numbered 760, in 07/1989, along with sister 759, F634UBL. They were painted all-over white with branding for the RailAir Link Heathrow - Reading service. Berks Bucks were born from the split of Alder Valley on 01/01/1986. The Berks Bucks Bus Co. Ltd was re-named from Alder Valley(North) and traded as The Bee Line from 25/01/1987. It was privatised on 16/12/1987 on sale to Len Wright Travel, Isleworth, holding company Q Drive. It is seen here at London Heathrow Airport Central Bus & Coach Station, on 04/06/1994. awaiting departure of Gatwick Airport. The Jetlink branding was a carry-over from London Country days.
