I was very surprised to see this in operation. Has the Merseyside area not got a vehicle age limit hence recent movements of older stock out of the area? Saying that, this B7TL was withdrawn around four months after this photo was taken.

New to London United(VR227), in 01/2002, and since converted to single-door layout from dual-doors, this B7TL is still soldiering on in Warrington. It is seen here departing from Warrington Bus Interchange, on 13/03/2024. It is operating Service 3 13:17 Warrington Bus Interchange - Bruche Bridge - Martinscroft. I was chatting to the friendly driver earlier while he was waiting to take up this service. Most if not all drivers at Warrington seemed to be OK. There are 105 electric Volvo BZL single-deckers due for Warrington, the arms length operated municipal operator, which obtained with ZEBRA funding, the first, 1001, BV24LPN, has now entered service since this photo was taken. A new depot has been constructed on Dallam Lane to house these electrics with the intention of replacing all of the diesel buses. © Peter Steel 2024.
