These two classic British motorcycles are seen here on display as part of a classic motor-cycle display, in association with the British Motorcycle Preservation Society, at the Llangollen Railway Classic Transport Weekend, Glyndyfrdwy Station, Wales, on 03/07/2022. This weekend was returning after a three year hiatus. Nearest the camera is 1560DU, a Velocette 350, dating from 1936, but receiving its current registration in 08/1976, while alongside, is YHA482, an Ariel Twin. © Peter Steel 2022.

The MSS 500 was the first 'swing arm' motorcycle built with an alloy engine fitted. This smart example, first registered in 06/1954, but I doubt with this registration plate, is seen here on Portland Walk, Barrow-in-Furness, on 17/07/2021, on display at the Barrow Festival of Transport. © Peter Steel 2021.

This 1965 example is seen here on Dalton Road, Barrow-in-Furness on display at a classic car and motorcycle show organised by Barrow BID in order to increase footfall in the town centre. This display of motorcycles was organised by the Furness British Motorcycle Club. The L.E. meant Little Engine and these 200cc motorcycles were used by the British Police with over fifty forces taking them from the 1950's to the 1970's. The Velocette and L.E. factories closed in 1971. Thes became known as Noddy Bikes in the Police Force. Photo taken on 21/07/2018. © Peter Steel 2018.
