This nice British classic motorcycle was first registered in 07/1955. The car towing the trailer is a nicely restored Ford Consul Capri, registered 521YFM, that was first registered in 05/1962. They are seen here about to make the right hand turn from Castle Street, Llangollen, Wales, onto A539 Mill Street, when returning home from the Llangollen Railway Classic Vehicle Weekend, Glyndyfrdwy Station, on 03/07/2022. The Rudge, or Rudge-Whitworth, was a West Midlands area cycle and motorcycle manufacturer. Rudge were based in Coventry while Whitworth were Birmingham based. This classic Norton re-build is seen here on display as part of a classic motor-cycle display, in association with the British Motorcycle Preservation Society, at the Llangollen Railway Classic Transport Weekend, Glyndyfrdwy Station, Wales, on 03/07/2022. This weekend was returning after a three year hiatus. This Norton, dating from 1960, is powered by a 499cc engine and received its current registration in 05/2003. For a look at the description, please press 'L' or 'Z' on your keyboard. Alongside the Norton is 673LFM, an Ariel Leader, that was first registered in 05/1959. The Ariel Leader was produced by Ariel Motorcycles, a British manufacturer, between 1958 and 1965. A radical design, the Leader was fully enclosed with an integral windscreen and was the first British motorcycle to have optional flashing indicators. It was powered by a 249 cc two-stroke twin giving a top speed of 68 mph. © Peter Steel 2022.
