The lightweight Leyland Cub was never going to be a great success in the midibus market with it's narrow entrance, high-floor and noisy engine. New to West Yorkshire PTE, in 07/1986, it is seen here on display at 'Metro 40' rally & running day, Bradford on 06/04/2014, an event organised by the Keighley Bus Museum Trust celebrating forty years since the conception West Yorkshire PTE. © Peter Steel 2014.

The lightweight Leyland Cub was never going to be a great success in the midibus market with it's narrow entrance, high-floor and noisy engine. New to West Yorkshire PTE, in 07/1986, this rare preserved example is seen here at the Bolton Abbey Station, of the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, on display at what is now known as the Aire Valley Transport Group Yorkshire Dales Rally & Running Day, on 09/10/2005, an event which has now moved to Coach Street Car Park, Skipton, and operates heritage services to the surrounding area from Skipton Bus Station, although it does still have a couple of journeys on the day to here at the railway and where this lively, noisy and rather warm Cub has just arrived from. Its last operator was Pilkington, Accrington, and it has since been smartly restored in WYPTE Metro Verona Green & Cream livery.

The camera being a Pentax MZ-M with the film being a Fujichrome Colourslide.

I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 2005.
