New to Reading Transport(186), in 07/1961, this smart Trolleybus passed to Teesside in 1969. It was later re-numbered T291 and carried a commemorative livery, which it carried until a recent overhaul. It has done the 'rounds' so to speak since the Teesside system closed on 18/04/1971, having been at Sandtoft and Carlton Coalville. It is seen here at Beamish, the Living Museum of the North, during the museum's three-day "Fares Please!" event on 07/05/2023. A small trolleybus system may be built at the new '1950s Town' that is currently being developed. Hidden behind is preserved Newcastle Corporation Transport, 501, LTN501, a Sunbeam S7 with Northern Coachbuilders bodywork. It was new to Newcastle Corporation Transport in 09/1948. Their system closed on 02/10/1966. © Peter Steel 2023.
