Situated on the corner of Chepstow Street, and A5103 Great Bridgewater Street, this traditional pub has good ratings. The Campaign for Real Ale(CAMRA) considers it to have an "interior of exceptional national historic importance." It was built c.1820 and underwent internal and external remodelling around 1900. It has a green tiled exterior with polished wood, stained glass windows and bench seating inside.

Plenty of buildings like this in Chester. I think this forms part of the Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel, formerly The Blossoms. The sign says "The Blossoms - Estd. 1650.

Latterly called The Inn at Brough: A change of owners and name for this Bar/Hotel/Restaurant coming in with some good reviews. Apparently it opened its doors on the weekend of when this photo was taken on 31/03/2024. It was Easter Weekend at the time of the annual Cumbria Easter Rally. This was the second and final day. © Peter Steel 2024.

This pub was and still is always known by locals as 'The Ferry', although it's original name was Ferry Hotel. A former Whitbread 'house', it is now operated by Mitchells & Butler and has been re-branded as a Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery having been under the Carvery brand. Having been re-furbished inside, it has also been re-painted outside but the colour scheme does nothing for a dull day. This was taken when with one of the so called Spring Tides on 12/03/2024. These are so named after a new or full moon, when there is the greatest difference between the high and low tides. This tide height was 10.31m. This was 0.22m higher than the month previous. You will notice the water is creeping onto the road. Not only with the height of the tide but with the drains backing up as well as it had been raining a fair bit. © Peter Steel 2024.
