This temple, which belonged to the old oratory of the Philippians, was built in 1688 according to the plans of the architect Blas Díaz, inaugurated in 1719. Later, in 1764, the roof was rebuilt due to the damage suffered by the tsunami of 1755. In addition to its artistic interest, it also has a special historical significance as the seat of the Cortes (national assembly) that drafted the first Spanish Constitution in 1812.

The exterior area of the temple is articulated by Ionic pilasters, among which numerous tombstones dedicated to the Dosañista deputies (name given to those belonging to the liberal current in favour of the constitution) stand out and which were placed in this place especially in 1912, to celebrate the centenary of the Cortes of Cádiz. turismo.cadiz.es/es/rutas-y-visitas-en-cadiz/oratorio-de-....

Antoni Gaudí's renowned unfinished church, started in the 1880s, with museum and city views. The Sagrada Família is a one-of-a-kind temple, for its origins, foundation and purpose. Fruit of the work of genius architect Antoni Gaudí, the project was promoted by the people for the people. Five generations now have watched the Temple progress in Barcelona. Today, more than 140 years after the laying of the cornerstone, construction continues on the Basilica. Please see sagradafamilia.org/en/history-of-the-temple for more details. After several visits of just seeing the outside including one failed attempt to get tickets on the day back in 2019, we booked tickets online prior to going this time. What can I say, "well just wow!" Don't miss going if you get the chance, Roman Catholic or not.

Forming the right wing of Palazzo(Musee) Fesch, this Chapel classified as a historical monument, was blessed on 09/09/1860. It owes its edification to Napoleon III who honoured the testamentary clauses of Cardinal Fesch whose vow was to gather in a single holy place for the burials of the Bonaparte family. It was erected under the second Empire between 1857 and 1859 in limestone of Saint-Florent, on the plans of Alexis Paccard, architect of the Crown. The crypt shelters the tombs of Cardinal Fesch, Charles and Laetitia Bonaparte, relatives of Napoleon, and those of other members of the Imperial family. These details and more can be found at www.ajaccio.fr/La-Chapelle-Imperiale_a353.html.

The Cathedral of Santa Ana - (Holy Cathedral-Basilica of Canary or Cathedral of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) is a Roman Catholic cathedral. It is the see of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Canarias and is situated within the Vegueta neighbourhood, next to the Plaza Mayor of Santa Ana.

The feast of the cathedral's dedication is celebrated every November 26. The structure of Gothic style is considered the most important monument of Canarian religious architecture.

The structure was finished, and the first offices celebrated, on the eve of Corpus Christi, 1570, in the time of the fourteenth Bishop, Fr. Juan de Alzolares. The eighteenth century saw the reconstruction and refurbishment of the cathedral after the Bishop, controlling a large tithe surplus, decided to commence work, overseen by Dean D. Geronimo Roos. The architect of the existing cathedral was Don Diego Nicolas Eduardo. Eduardo's plans were submitted to the St Ferdinand Academy of Madrid, who retained the original drawings, and returned copies for the commencement of the work itself.

Building works began around 1500, but were not completed until almost four centuries later. For this purpose, the intervention of different architects and skilled artists were necessary. The result of this is that there are three architectural styles in the cathedral: Gothic, Renaissance and neoclassical.
