It had arrived here trailing Service 1J61 12:30 Heywood - Bury Bolton Street - Burrs Country Park - Summerseat - Ramsbottom - Irwell Vale - Rawtenstall, due to arrive at Rawtenstall at 13:40. Preserved British Railways - 'Phil Southern' D5054 - Class 24 - Sulzer Type 2 had been leading and this 47 would now move in to the station and attach to trail the returning Class 24 operating the 1J62 14:03 Ex-Rawtenstall. Behind the 47 in the sidings is preserved Ex-Northern - Class 144 - 144009 - BREL Derby/Walter Alexander. This would work the 2E06 14:43 Ramsbottom - Bury Bolton Street non-stop service.©This should have been 'dragged' by Class 40 - 40012 but I'm unsure if that was the case. Peter Steel 2024.
