Built by Brush Traction, Loughborough, in 1961, originally numbered D5801. It entered traffic on 08/06/1961 and withdrawn from traffic on 01/05/1997 being the final Main Line locomotive operating with Vacuum brakes only. It is seen here departing from Berwyn, Wales, on the Llangollen Railway when operating the delayed 15:20 Corwen - Llangollen service. It is twenty minutes late at this point. © Peter Steel 2023.
