This smart steam locomotive was new in 1948 to Blackpool Gasworks, numbered 1. She is seen here at Kirkby Stephen(East) Station, the home of the Stainmore railway Company, which also houses a museum. Built in 1962 for the former Hartley Quarry, Kirkby Stephen, this diesel shunter has had a variety of uses since then, including helping to construct the Channel Tunnel. Now back in Cumbria, Elizabeth is the smaller of the two diesels at this private railway. It is seen here at Kirkby Stephen(East) Station, of the Stainmore Railway Company, on 30/03/2024.
