New to Cumberland, in 05/1964, and once based at Keswick, this fine MW is seen here at the Ravenglass Station of the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, or 'La'al Ratty' as it affectionately known as, in early 06/2006.

Looking towards the hamlet of Boot, and Scafell Pike in the distance left of centre. Scafell Pike is the tallest mountain in England measuring 978 m (3,209 ft) high and is also home to the highest standing water in England, known as Broad Crag Tarn. It lies at about 820 m (2,700 ft), a quarter of a mile south of the summit.

Fitted with a Perkins naturally aspirated 6-cylinder engine, Lady Wakefield was designed and built in the workshops at Ravenglass and was commissioned in 1980. Named after the former railway's chairman's wife, she was refurbished by Birmingham based TMA Engineering in 2013. She is seen here in the sidings at Ravenglass on 01/06/2016. © Peter Steel 2016.
