More details on the previous photo of this 'Popemobile' that was one of two built in 1982 by Leyland Trucks to transport the late Pope John Paul II around the U.K. for his visit in that year, the other being SCW532X. It was first registered in 05/1982 and is powered by a Leyland 410 6,540cc diesel engine and has a Albion 10-speed splitter gearbox. It was bodied by CSC Ltd., Northampton, to design by Ogle Associates. It is seen here looking immaculate when on display the British Commercial Vehicle Museum, Leyland, on 25/09/2022.
