This moth is a bee mimic, but unlike a bee it sips nectar while hovering rather than standing on the flower. The flower is Wild Bergamot which these moths seem to like.

The endangered Karner Blue Butterfly at Wilton Wildlife Preserve is having the second hatch of the year. (Karner is a race of the Melissa Blue.) It's not apparent from this photo but I noticed the butterfly pairs sometimes move together while coupled. For example, this coupled pair appeared to be executing a spiral acrobatic dance around the single blade of grass on which they are perched above.
