The Western Heights railtour was operated by Pathfinder Tours on September 3rd 2005 starting at Bristol running to Carlisle via the Settle & Carlisle route and returning via the West Coast Main Line. Here 1Z29 is seen in the hands pf D1015 Western Champion arriving at Carlisle climbing up from the S&C for a break before the journey back to Bristol. It had been dull up to this time and an unlucky patch of sunlight contrived to put the side of the train in shadow, Carlisle had been selected as a place where the train would be travelling slowly, oh the joys of 100 iso films!
