50036 Victorious romps through Westbourne Park on 20th March 1990 with the 14:15 Paddington to Newbury service. The BR Blue paintwork is looking a mite shabby, many sister locomotives had received repaints into NSE colours by this date.

On a desperately dull and miserable 7th December 1983 the Doncaster Test Train was unusually routed into Platform 8 at Newcastle instead of the avoiding lines. 50014 Warspite in immaculate ex-works condition contrasts with the rundown set of coaches used on the test train. The Hoover was withdrawn from service four years later on 13th December 1987, being one of the earliest to go.

GW150 green liveried 50007 Sir Edward Elgar always seemed a difficult proposition to judge the correct exposure, not helped here on 7th July 1990 at Exeter Central by the loco being somewhat grubby and the extremely poor light level. The service was the 11:50 Exeter to Waterloo.

50027 Lion seen at Milborne Port in very flat lighting conditions on 11th April 1989 working 1V15, the 15:10 Waterloo to Exeter service. The light and resulting low contrast negative put me into two minds as to whether I should scan it or pass it over, however it is sharp, so here it is.

The weather on this trip to the Waterloo to Exeter route was not proving too kind, as seen on 2nd May 1991 as 50027 Lion leads 50007 Sir Edward Elgar away from the long closed station at Seaton Junction with the 12:00 Exeter to Waterloo service. The GW 150 green livery 50007 was also rather grimy.
