Tyne & Wear Metro services have been suspended between Tynemouth and St James this week to allow replacement of the overhead wires on this section, there has been a replacement bus service (900) in operation. Here at Tynemouth a service from South Shields awaits departure back to South Shields on 25th February 2022. Services have been using the platform used for trains to St James.

A Tyne & Wear Metro service for Bank Foot seen at Gateshead Stadium on 14th March 1985. At this time the line had not been extended to Newcastle Airport or Sunderland/South Hylton. The vandal resistant mirror provides a rather distorted image of where the train is heading.

The sign of the Tyne & Wear Metro is a yellow and black cube. This one is at Newcastle Central Station, one of several entrances to the station, it saves passengers crossing a busy road to access.
