This was an early outing for 37403 which had recently returned to active service with DRS. The 37 was paired with 66305 on 6E44, the 07:41 Carlisle to Seaton on Tees conveying a single flask wagon. The working is seen here at Pelaw with GBRF 66739 heading towards Gateshead.

On August 6th 2016 a Grand Central HST set heads South at Ryhope Grange near Sunderland with 1A69, the 17:31 Sunderland to Kings Cross service. Note the froth on the windscreen immediately after the driver has used the washers. These sets are to be replaced by 180s cascaded from FGW once new rolling stock has arrived from Hitachi.

With a thumbs-up from the driver on May 26th 2008 a pair of DRS Class 20s head through Pelaw Junction with 6M60, the 13:25 Seaton-on-Tees to Sellafield nuclear flask train, with only a single flask on this occasion. I have no record of their identities unfortunately.

Spitfire Railtours "Norseman" railtour ran on September 11th 2010 from Kings Cross to Newcastle and return. The Northbound run ran as 1Z55, the return operated via the Durham Coast Line as 1Z56. The latter is seen here at Pelaw on the Durham Coast Line in the hands of 55022, emiting the usual Deltic smoke trail.
