I managed to convince him to let me go check out things. I don't blame him, for not wanting me to leave him alone. He's incapacitated, and we have no idea about the threat level that's still out there. I mean, he's been wounded and that's a pretty serious threat, if it wasn't planned.
I've got him set up to be as comfortable as possible; he's facing the door, in the event of a hostile break-in. I'm sure he'll be all right, but I hate leaving him alone, even if he's part of it.
I'll make it a fast investigation.

Ramirez got the door off the hinges. To be honest, I'm surprised, but maybe this is how it's always been planned for us to "escape." Ramirez is checking outside. We're about to make a break for it.

Maybe I was wrong about Ramirez.
It's either that, or his co-conspirators have turned on him -- or they're lousy shots.
He's been shot in the leg with an arrow.
We've gotten back to the house after nearly making good our escape over the fence. I pulled the arrow out of his leg, ONLY because he swore he'd do it if I didn't. We should have left it in until help arrives, but if this was an accident and he knew when to expect help, or how to reach help... Well, I can't believe he'd pull out the arrow if this wasn't a deadly serious situation.
Was I wrong? Is this all real?
Luckily, no arteries were hit, and I bandaged him up before he lost too much blood.
I've got him stashed in front of the fire, in the study, and I have the kitchen door nailed shut from the inside. We'll hole up in the study until we think of another plan.
