Sorry about this one. Ended up coming a bit too late for the close up action today and had to settle for this far away image. Distance to these birds was approximately 130 feet. I couldn't get any closer without falling over the cliff.
Update: Glad to have gotten this photo when I did. The top of this snag no longer exists and has been broken off due to severe winter wind storms on Vancouver Island in the past few weeks.

Been pretty dead for me this winter as regards local raptors. Not much of that kind of action over here on the island. Will hopefully be able to try another trip to the interior this spring. Who knows maybe I can run into another one of these guys.
