This big-headed ant scurried across our kitchen floor one night, thus becoming an involuntary photo subject.

I captured it in a glass, then chilled it in the freezer just long enough to immobilize it for a short time, which causes no harm.

I was able to get these shots using a 65mm macro lens with 1-5x magnification. These photos are all handheld.

I released it back outside after it warmed up.
