Despite attempts to protect the hummingbird feeders from ant invasion, I carefully place the feeders so that they are not touching anything nearby them. I have the feeders attached to water-filled moats, but inevitably I find the feeders filled with ants that have crawled inside and drowned, plus ants all over the outside. I decided to watch to see how the clever ants accomplished this task. This photo series tells the answer.
