I walked outside this morning to place some letters in the mailbox and noticed a dark object in the middle of the road. Upon closer examination, I found this dead rabbit that must have just been recently hit by a car. I just couldn't leave it there, so I put on some disposable rubber gloves, carried a piece of cardboard over to the rabbit, then gently slid it onto the cardboard. I carried it back to my garden to take this photo to acknowledge its life. We just had a significant rain, so the ground is soft. I will bury it in my garden.

I found this lovely spider on October 18th, 2022. I thought she would die overnight, as she had lost two legs on the right side of her body. She has been our "house guest" eight days now! I made a little habitat for her within a small kiwi fruit box that has holes in the lid and the bottom. It is lined with bits of plants from my garden. Now she is on my desk where I can see her move around, spinning silk wherever she moves. I offered her a small house spider, but she didn't seem interested. I was able to catch some moths that were flying around our porch light during a weather warmup. When I put one in her habitat, she eagerly captured it. So, for now she remains on my desk as a visitor.
