In honor of Superman's 75th birthday year, this is Action Comics #1, released in June of 1938. At present, it's the most valuable comic book, selling for $1.5 million. It contains the debut of Superman, of course, as well as ten other stories. Here's the original, minus my face...: darkpinesmedia.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/superman-first...

I know it's not a great job, but it was done quickly while watching to make sure Ada did her homework. Fun to do, anyhow...

As per HELLO CHICAGO - DUMP THE TRUMP's request, this is only the second time I've put two versions of the same picture up! This is Action Comics No. 1 (cover dated June, 1938, but published on April 18th) again, but this time it's much more interesting, due to the wear and tear and the slightly muted colors - making it look more like a real comic than my other version. Also, I've decided to put myself in a more prominent position - although I'm no longer the star of the funny book...

Sadly, the original link is no longer up, but here's what the cover looked like... sort of: vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/5/5a/Action_...

One of the greatest cartoons of all time, the Fleischer Brothers Superman debuted in 1941, and lasted until 1943 with 17 episodes. Voiced by Bud Collyer (as on radio), the cartoon's animation style was influential on the superhero cartoons of the 1990's. Possibly the biggest influence of the cartoons was that, since many of the animators were new at the game and had trouble making Superman "leap tall buildings in a single bound", the Fleischers got permission from DC Comics to allow Supes to just fly - and it became canon!

This is Superman - Forever (1998), by artist Alex Ross. It was the cover for Superman: Forever No. 1 (June, 1998) - the 60th anniversary of the character!

Well, here's my attempt at the new Superman from Man of Steel. Difficult to do, with the diffuse lighting and weird shadows... Excuses, excuses! Here's the original: static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/0/40/2840438-bg.jpeg
