Two twin car Class 142 Arriva Trains Wales Pacer units head east across Porthkerry Viaduct towards Rhoose on the 5F00 Cardiff Canton Sidings – Bridgend ECS. The largely despised shuddering, bouncing and sometimes squealing units built from the bodies of a buses will be phased out over the next few years. The 1L05 Swansea - London (Paddington) GWR High Speed Train (HST 125), crosses Porthkerry Viaduct in the Vale of Glamorgan as the sun begins to rise illuminating the Bristol Channel and Somerset coast in the background. It’s rare to see these trains on the main line in South Wales now that they are being phased out. Even rarer here as this is a diverted train along the Vale of Glamorgan line. Taken at 04:54.
