Caption: "Men's Bible Class of the Church of God, Elizabethtown, Pa."
This is a postcard addressed on the other side to "Mr. Alfred Hardeman, Town" and postmarked in Elizabethtown, Pa., on October 30 (the year is missing).
Handwritten message: "This is to write you to attend the Rally Day exercises which will be held by the Church of God Sunday School, Sunday, Nov. 2, 9:30 A.M."
Rally Day is a celebration held by some Protestant churches to promote family attendance at church services and encourage children's participation in Sunday school. The fifty-three members of the Men's Bible Class who posed for this postcard don't look like they'll accept just any old excuse if you're not there for Rally Day.
Another copy of this card that was offered for sale online had a 1922 postmark. Since November 2 -- the date of the church's Rally Day -- fell on Sundays in 1919 and 1924, I'm guessing that the card dates to 1924.
