A sign along one of the walking trails at the Elk County Visitor Center, which is located on Winslow Hill Road, Benezette, Elk County, Pa. Actually, the other side of this sign was the one facing the trail (see below), and its more dramatic message warned, "Please be alert as you enjoy this trail. Rattlesnakes are in the area." Fortunately, we didn't encounter any rattlers.

A foreboding sign along one of the walking trails at the Elk County Visitor Center, which is located on Winslow Hill Road, Benezette, Elk County, Pa. On the other side of this sign (see below), the original mesage simply said, "Stay on paths" and "Keep out of field." Fortunately, we didn't spot any snakes.
