It was a hot 32.7degress, Sunday (July 13) when Tenno-sai Matsuri (Tenno-sai Festival ) was held at Yasaka Shrine (Enoshima Shrine), Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture near Kamakura. The mikoshi owned by the shrine paraded by about 150 youths and carried into the sea around 11 a.m. The scene of the youths jostling with one another in the sea is the highlight of the festival.

Enoshima Jinja Shrine consists of 3 small shrines and 2 caves, each dedicated to a different Shinto goddess. The Hetsu-no-miya shrine is dedicated to Tagitsu-hime-no-mikoto; the Nakatsu-no-miya shrine to Ichikishima-hime-no-mikoto; and the Okutsu-no-miya shrine to Tagiri-hime-no-mikoto.
