Le grèbe s'est arraché une plume sous l'aile et la donne à son petit afin qu'une fois avalée elle tapisse le fond de son estomac.
Cela permet de protéger l'estomac du petit contre les nombreuses arêtes des poissons-chats qu'il va ensuite avaler.
