this work is 'related' to the poem prototype project- what with its false start, its abandonment and its eventual completion through a second insight and the agency of others.
and that it works against imagery rather than with it.
at upper left- three images of the problems of remote posing by a person in india who had had an analogous experience (and so was able to understand WHY she was posing- but unable to comprehend diagrams of WHAT she was to do- this is from the first of three sets of attempts) and transfer. the lowest also shows how i moved the large piece within my limited space without breaking it- by mounting it on an assembled piece of blue styrofoam.
below left; assembly of the laminate by creating a ten foot long fiberglass butt joint then sanding it flat, attaching it to the temporary styrofoam support, and then fork lifting the piece into an enlarged opening outside my workspace.
(not shown- problems and process of cracking the laminate in roughly the outline of a broken window, moving, anchoring, lighting and reconstruction of the piece in splatterpool artspace etc. etc.)
at center is the sixteen foot abandoned early version- central figure wasn't fact-based enough.
