Sweny's is the pharmacy where Leopold Bloom buys a lemon soap in "The Lotus Eaters" episode of Ulysses. Kennedy's is associated with Wilde, Joyce and Beckett. Wilde worked here when part of the bar was a grocers (he lived to the right of Sweny's at no 1 Merrion Square). Joyce and Beckett drank here. Beckett lived close by in Clare Street.

Formerly known as Conway’s, this pub is mentioned in Episode 5 in Ulysses

Bloom crosses O'Connell Bridge in the “Lestrygonians” episode of Ulysses:

"As he set foot on O'Connell bridge a puffball of smoke plumed up from the parapet. Brewery barge with export stout. England. Sea air sours it, I heard. Be interesting some day get a pass through Hancock to see the brewery. Regular world in itself. Vats of porter wonderful."

In the "Wandering Rocks" episode:

"On O'Connell bridge many persons observed the grave deportment and gay apparel of Mr Denis J Maginni, professor of dancing &c."
[the house in which Maginni ran a dance academy is currently the James Joyce Centre].

"Denis Breen with his tomes, weary of having waited an hour in John Henry Menton's office, led his wife over O'Connell bridge, bound for the office of Messrs Collis and Ward."

In Dubliners in the "Counterparts" story:

"A very sullen-faced man [Farrington] stood at the corner of O'Connell Bridge waiting for the little Sandymount tram to take him home"

Wicklow Street was the location for the "Ivy Day in the Committee Room" story in Dubliners. It is also along this street that Bloom goes 'dawdling' in the "Wandering Rocks" episode of Ulysses. The photo was taken on St Andrew's Street and behind stood Corless's (in the Burlington Hotel) to which Little Chandler goes to meet Gallaher in Little Cloud.

Associated with Wilde, Joyce and Beckett. Wilde worked here when part of the bar was a grocers. Joyce and Beckett drank here. Beckett lived around the corner in Clare Street. Beyond the red brick building was Finn's Hotel where Nora Barnacle was working when she first met Joyce. In Ulysses Bloom bumps into M’Coy who had been drinking in here and who appeared in the story "Grace" in Dubliners. The man nearest made me think of Farrington from "Counterparts" out with his friends.
