Perfect light near sunset sheds a darkly view deep into the North Cascade Mountains. The high peak I'm standing on has a shadow burnt into the Forbidden Glacier. Behind you can see the peak we were at a few weeks ago. It's dead center behind Forbidden and is called Buckner. Other peaks in the background are Storm King and Mt. Goode (on the left). These peaks have over 7000 feet vertical reliefs above their associated valley floors...some of the most densely congested such peaks in the lower 48 states and even beyond.
