Water is special. Carrying about 70-80lbs in hot weather on the snow skiing or climbing upward, we drink a lot, gallons. Seeing refreshing water like these at the headwaters of the Queets River are beyond refreshing, they are life giving. Being so near this amazing falls in such a far away and remote place was one of those special moments for me, a top five on this trip. I stood in the spray for several minutes.

We spent the night high over the Humes Glacier after a difficult day. The shadows offered great views as they morphed and evolved with the night's progression and the day's last breaths.
