Image Description: |
I have some new pound coins and feel... underwhelmed. Being a former archaeologist I am very much into the past - it's interesting - but I don't think it is something we need to go back to. Perhaps it is just me thinking that using a shape based on a pre-decimalisation coin is trying to create some kind of jingoistic national pride based on what was in the face of a very uncertain and not particularly appetising future. Brexit propaganda? It does kind of fit... the coins feel cheap, fake and nasty! |
