I had to pop into Barrow in Furness this afternoon. On the way home I took the coast road, found myself in Roosebeck and decided to see if there was anything worth photographing for today. I already had one "in the bag" from Coniston this morning, but think this is the more striking image :-)

After yesterday's photograph I was feeling on a bit of a high, today the weather is just grey, damp and generally a bit grim.

I took a detour on the way back from a job early this afternoon - there is a scene that often unfolds infront of me on the way East of a morning that I would love to capture if I wasn't on a dual carriageway section of the A590. My detour has found me a new and, possibly, better vantage point for that one, and I decided to come back round via Gummers Howe to see if there was anything worthwhile enroute.

There wasn't really. So you get a picture of sheep grazin' in the gloamin' above Lake Windermere ;-)

Sunrise over Parkamoor and Coniston Water.

I have had a day off today... but still had to pop to site to check that the ground works were going okay, so first thing in the morning it was a dash upto Coniston. I decided to grab a few frames of frosty woodlands "just incase", the intention was to get something better this evening. Alas it has decided to snow so I am glad that I got the "banker" in early!

It was a cold and foggy morning today. The snow fall overnight had settled, though it was wet slippy stuff.

All gone by lunchtime, the sun even tried to get out - but then reverted to cold, grey and wet. Dammit!

I quite like this one from first thing though (just arrived on site). The fog just softens everything up and the soft yellow light trying to break through the fog almost lends a warmth to the scene.

The weather has been pretty grim all day today, I tried to find something both around Coniston this morning and then Kirkby Lonsdale this afternoon, but there was nothing providing any inspiration.

As a result it was an evening of "play with the wireless flashgun". Handy having animals to practice portrait lighting on ;-)

This one had a Canon 580 EXII placed around 45 degrees from Jake with the wee white card thing popped out and the head pointed up at 45 degrees too. Trying to give a more interesting light than default flash mounted on camera!
