I haven't ridden The North Face Trail since I broke my ankle then wrecked my back - which was the 7th September 2015, and it was a couple of weeks before then I rode it last.

It's good to be back, even if it took me a *lot* longer to get around the lap than usual! There was snow, water, a bit of sunshine and... did I mention water? So wet I got wet feet inside waterproof boots!

I was done by the half way point (about where this was taken) but pushed on. The Trek is fantastic on the down hills and finds unreasonable amounts of traction going up. It justs needs the engine sorting....

I have been neglecting exercise too much of late - so I popped out to work a new route idea.

It worked quite nicely too :-)

The 2.8" wide small block tyres, however, were less good. Draggy on the road (felt like treacle), uber sketchy on the muddy sections too. But on the rocky descent... oh my God they are good!

That said, I think I will stick the 29" x 2.35" jobs back on for a bit though, with the aggressive treads. May have another run at it tomorrow if I can move and see if it is any easier!

This morning's commuter time ride took me to the Anthony Gormley statue at the foot of Coniston Water. Lovely morning, but with rain forecast for later I thought I had best make something of the day!

Still utterly exhausted from yesterday.

Took Jen on my Friday "commute" today... which involved jumping in the van to Grizedale Forest for a bimble on the North Face Trail.

Lots of fun was had, and Jen was managing some tricksy sections pretty well... more of this I think :-)
