Here we are, a whole new year in a whole new place to explore! Well, technically we arrived at the start of December and have lived here for almost a month but that has been consumed with preparing for Christmas and just trying to find our feet!
We still have a fair bit of unpacking and sorting out to do which is the plan for the next week or two, then as lockdown starts to lift it will be time to start planning for the future and getting the business up and running.
So here is to 2021, a year I hope will be full of adventure.

The locals were out this evening checking out the new residents at Clunemore.
A pair of Sika deer from the larger herd which roam the moorland above us. Usually we have more. Today we also had a pair of white-tailed sea eagles circling the house!

The winter weather that gripped the Highlands at the tail end of 2020 is still evident despite no fresh snow to speak of for a few days.

Loch Ness under heavy cloud with just a slight break allowing some sunlight through to the south.
We are back into another full lockdown as of tonight with only essential journies and local exercise allowed until at least the end of January. This should give us a good change to get the house sorted out and explore or immediate local area!

I got a tip to take a quick run to Loch Meiklie a little way up Glen Urqhuart today as the winter scenes around Glen Coiltie are starting to thaw a little but just over the hill it is still very much still present. A quick 5 minute drive later I pulled into St Ninian's Church car park, popped down to the shore and was impressed by the frozen expanse of the loch!
