I decided to give the big 200-500 f5.6 a quick try today on the FTZ adaptor which allows old style SLR lenses to be fitted onto the new Z range (F mount To Z Mount - took me an unfortunately long while to work that name out... I blame something or other.) Works well, which is good - mainly because there is not yet a native lens for the Z system that does what this big old lump of glass does. At least not without a pricetag that makes you think you are buying a new car!

After having us worried last week with his sudden and dramatic illness leaving us and the vets worried that he may not make it... they still have no real idea as to what it was - but he was in for a check up this morning and was like a totally different cat to the one they saw last week! At his time of admission he was down from 2.1kg to 1.8kg (in just a few days), he is back up to 2.2kg now and eating like a horse... that has been starved.

Yes, he has been signed off as back to normal! Well... as normal as Magnus the Mainecoon ever can be ;-)

This arrived today!

I hadn't mentioned it previously as I was only about 65% sure that it was legitimate - the advert seemed to suggest it was just the focal puller accessory according to the picture, and the price was about right, but the description was for a full kit... plus the focus puller. And the discount was considerable.

For reference, the focal puller costs anything up to about £120 depending where you get it from.

The gimbal is about £299.99 - some places have it a bit cheaper.

So when I saw it advertised by a Dutch photography store I have used before for little bits and pieces for £119.00 including the postage to the UK you can imagine I was sceptical.

Brand new, never opened, never used.... and just in time for a job I have tomorrow that requires some video work too!

Should come in handy if I decide to go back to University next year... again...
