Key powered cars were a big hit back in the 1980's notably with the original Kidco range though they never really went away with a myriad of cheaper copies always on the market. I picked this very generic looking key car from my local Boyes store back in July 2016, sold under the HGL brand it is typically low rent but nothing too horrendous. Mint and boxed.

Dramatic looking in a cheapo kind of way generic sports coupe which made its way into my collection by the virtue of its retro key selling feature. That feature is a plastic key which when inserted into the rear shoots the car forward once a button is pressed very reminiscent of the Kidco Key Cars from the 1980's! The model itself is typical of a low end diecast lacking an interior but as already mentioned its neatly styled in a deliberately generic way. Made in China and sold under the HGL brand < H.Grossman LTD though almost certainly not made by them. Bought from a Boyes store back in July 2016. Mint and boxed.
