There are certain modern prestige SUV vehicles which you just know are going to feature highly in many obscure Chinese diecast ranges and so its absolutely no surprise whatsoever to find an Audi Q7 in Rong Xings line up! Its very similar in size to the equivalent ones made by Y.T.G.F. and Miniauto though does lack a little of their outright realism and extra detailing. What it does share though is its unsurprising unlicensed status and the fact that the actual wheels are pleasing in appearance and have separate rubber tyres which continues to be a rarity these days at this end of the market. Part of a six vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

With my almost pathological desire to have an extremely diverse collection of 1/64 models it means continually searching out new brands and new lines to collect and often that of course leads me to the pocket money end of the market. I know crude cheapo diecasts arn't everyones cup of tea but as long as they strongly resemble a real vehicle then i'm happy enough and that certainly extends to the products of Rong Xing who along with supercars also make a small range of modern SUV's. Bringing things pretty up to date is their unlicensed rendition of a new generation Porsche Cayenne which they seem to have captured to an acceptable standard especially around the front end with its gaping wide grille and swept back headlamps. Detailing is fairly basic but effective and the whole thing is painted in a well applied metallic finish and even comes complete with a set of realistic wheels. Part of a six vehicle set bought directly from China. Mint and boxed.

When modelling any type of Hummer vehicle you can get away with being a little bit crude as the real vehicle is hardly an exercise in sexy curves and sculptured crispness. The H3 was probably the most sensibly sized of all the Hummers and lends itself better to small scale diecasts especially at the lower end of the market where models like this one by Rong Xing sit. Unashamedly chunky with its overtly square styling and slab sided features, this unlicensed H3 is more akin to a Siku in size and although it clearly doesn't share that brands quality it does stretch to having a decent set of wheels which come complete with separate rubber tyres. Part of a six vehicle set bought recently from AliExpress. Mint and boxed.

Possibly the most modelled BMW SUV at the moment certainly in 1/64 scale also seems to be the most ugly and the one with the biggest image problem! Whatever my personal thoughts are on this vehicle it has certainly been a sales success for the Bavarian firm and that has filtered down to the toy producers especially ones originating from China. I've lost count how many different examples I have of the X6 but this is my latest purchase and is made by a company called Rong Xing. It has clearly not been designed to compete with Majorette or Realtoy for low cost supremacy but is endearing by the fact it is well sized and features front and rear detailing as well as an interior and expensive looking wheels. Part of a six vehicle set not surprisingly bought directly from China. Mint and boxed.

Considering the real vehicle is STILL waiting to be launched the Lamborghini Urus SUV has certainly attracted its fair share of toy manufacturers willing to model it. The most well known 1/64 version and possibly the only licensed one which I can think of from the top of my head is the Hot Wheels but several Chinese makers have also got a peace of the action albeit in a typical below board kind of way. This little beauty is made by Rong Xing and is part of a small range of miniature SUV's which all seem to share the same basic type of casting quality and detailing. Its still instantly recognisable as being based on a Urus and surprisingly for a cheapo diecast it is well finished in a metallic blue colour and wears realistic alloy effect wheels with separate rubber tyres. Part of a six vehicle set bought recently directly from China. Mint and boxed.
