For once I was ahead of the curve in finding my first example of the 2019 recolour of the Hot Wheels 1982 Nissan Skyline R30 simply because it had been included in a three vehicle set BEFORE being available as a single. Its not unusual for HW to do this and can be a great source of the very latest variations before the cases actually hit the market.
Some weeks later and I've found the single packaged equivalent at ASDA oddly in a long card and merchandised on a clip strip instead of the usual pile em high in the shin high baskets of doom!
Not a premium edition of course but a damn good one all the same for a pocket money diecast and one which is just as satisfying to own especially when given this clean crisp white colour with era appropriate black lower half and graphics. Its a classic Nissan Skyline, of course its going to be immensely popular with collectors!
Mint and boxed.

As if the build up to Christmas wasn't stressful enough I also had to contend with various new batches of 2019 Hot Wheels appearing in quick succession and not being able to find everything I want! Ive given myself a much needed break from it all and normal services will resume in January when hopefully stock will become more bountiful but not before I managed to find some Case B & C stuff in the previous week.
I did find a coupe of "C" goodies in ASDA in long cards distributed on clip strips oddly away from the toy aisles including the latest recolour of the 1995 Mazda RX-7. Its yet another liveried recolour, this time being centred around Mad Mike which means lots of intricate licensed logos and no semblance of stock reality!
Happily its base black colour gives it a menacing authoritative appearance especially when mated to dark coloured wheels and is yet another neo-modern Japanese classic in the HW arsenal. Mint and boxed.

If you want to see detailed lights and badging on the latest 2019 recolour of the hugely hyped and hugely loved Hot Wheels R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R then you'd better look at its pert derriere! ;-)
Trademark four round lights, GT-R badge and high level stop light are all coloured in neatly and are pretty much essential when modelling this beast of a Japanese performance coupe. Its deep and glossy metallic olive green paint finish complimented by black striping is also noteworthy and proves there is still a LOT of life in this casting going forward!
One of two found recently in ASDA as part of the recent C Case. Mint and boxed.

Well I certainly can't argue with its "custom" title, this is one classic VW Beetle which has undergone one heck of a modification! Vehicles like this dont usually float my boat but I'm a sucker for an old Beetle regardless of how far removed from stock it looks hence why this latest 2019 recolour came home with me. I have no idea whether its based on a real vehicle or pure fiction but I'm loving its rusty "rat look" appearance and newish style wheels. Found in ASDA on long cards and part of the mysterious Case C which seemingly only gets to be merchandised in piecemeal fashion on clip strips in and around the toy aisle!
Mint and boxed.

Once the Hot Wheels collecting bug infects you its very hard to cure it even as a fairly sane adult! ;-p. Its never ending batches of new castings and recolours means you daren't take your eye off the ball or give yourself a "collecting break" for one minute in case you miss out on something. I also blame the various diecast sites such as the Lamley Group who report on every forthcoming model and whips you up into frenzy of nervous anticipation as to when these new castings will arrive in your own country and local stockists. I secretly enjoy the thrill of the chase of course which is what trying to keep on top of new HW releases gives you especially here in the U.K. where new HW stuff veers from feast to famine at any given time! It took until March of this year for new stuff to appear in places like Wilkinsons after the festive period of 2015 and its where I managed to grab one of these fantastic K&N liveried 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray models. The multi-coloured wheels are probably not to everyones taste including mine but the already decent casting took on a new lease of life with this licensed colour scheme which is something Hot Wheels are experts at! Mint and boxed.
