Its always worth keeping an open mind when collecting diecasts, some people only like to collect products made by the more well known and established companies ignoring more obscure brands originating from the Far East. My love of the more lower end of the 1/64 market has enabled me to discover new stuff which although may not be licensed are certainly equal if not better than certain well known rivals. A good example is this is a company who I think are called Jiaye Toys and who tend to sell their products under the Double Horses name. This modern looking Ford Mustang GT is beautifully cast and tastefully finished with painted detailing and an accurately sculptured interior. The wheels are a little bit cheap looking but this is definitely a step up or two from a Maisto and certainly equals the quality of an average Hot Wheels. Sold in some countries as a Golden Wheel product i've sadly yet to see any here in the U.K. where they would be perfect for a low priced in-house branded diecast range. Part of a 12 vehicle set bought directly from China. Mint and boxed.

Very slick but inexpensive 1/64 model of the Porsche 918 by Double Horses. Its part of a suitably impressive range of 3 inch diecasts made by this company which mainly use modern vehicles and are realistically finished in believable colours and often feature painted external features and interiors. This Porsche 918 uses its shimmering pearlescent white colour to good effect and is so well cast it is very easy to imagine it being in someone else's range such as Matchbox, Realtoy or Majorette. Part of a 12 vehicle set bought directly from China. Mint and boxed.

Unlicensed castings often conjour up images of cheap and nasty Chinese diecasts or unpopular HW and MBX generics but quite often you'll come across ones which look startlingly realistic and well cast. Double Horses is one such toy manufacturer who produce a range of inexpensive 1/64 vehicles which at first glance look licensed and its only a look at the "W" badge at the front which tells you otherwise. Looking thankfully very stock in its appearance it has some really neat touches such as fully painted lights and bumper inserts plus an interior and a striking well applied metallic finish. Definitely the type of inexpensive diecast i'd love to see here in the U.K. rather than some of the much less desirable stuff supplied by HTI. Part of a 12 vehicle set bought directly from China though I believe these can be found in other countries sold under the Golden Wheel brand. Mint and boxed.

Looking very similar to the Welly equivalent which is very much a compliment is this little model of a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG by the Chinese toy manufacturer who go by the name Double Horses. Its hard to know with 100% certainty as to whether this is a licensed casting as it does indeed use the Mercedes badge at the front but there is no other sign of that name on either the baseplate or packaging plus most other models they make arn't. Whatever its status it is a well cast low end diecast which certainly holds its own against similar priced competition with its accurate body, refreshingly plain colour and painted detailing to lights and bumper level grilles. Part of a 12 vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

The unprecedented success of the real vehicle in World markets has ensured the stylish Range Rover Evoque can now be seen in quite a few toy makers line up especially ones originating from China. Double Horses make their own version too which believe it or not isn't a licensed casting especially as it looks every bit as realistic if not slightly superior to the Matchbox equivalent. Predictably they have gone for the three door version which although is massively outsold by the five door in real life is perhaps seen as the most striking style wise. I am very impressed with this little diecast which could easily hold its own in more established company with its many painted features, a realistic interior and even a full length glass roof. Thankfully Double Horses have seen sense and removed the "Rapid Pover" wording from the front which affected earlier versions. Part of a 12 vehicle set bought directly from China back in November 2016. Mint and boxed.
